061 Road Rally 2004

Simon Harrison/Paul Holmberg maintained their 100% record when competing together by winning the Altratech 061 Rally. It was the third time they’d paired up and the third time they’d won.

The High Peak and 061 MC rally used a 180 mile route in Derbyshire.

There was a tight battle for the lead with the top four crews being separated by under a minute at the Finish. Richard Hill/Daniel Stone had led after the section over High Rake but they fell back later to finish seventh.

Other crews who hit trouble included Guy Robinson/Charlie Wheeldon who were forced out with an electrical fire in their Proton. Owen Turner/Graham Raeburn were severely delayed when the fuel pump on their Metro failed and Jamie Turner/Mike Valentine picked up a fail after missing a loop.

Jonathan Bossen/Paul Nelson (Subaru Impreza) retired after five miles with a split hose and Iain Scott/Jez Harris (Peugeot 309) went out with a bent wheel after High Rake.
