Steve Herbert took his second win in successive weekends when he navigated Glyn Price to victory on the Pacemaker. This was another Welsh Championship round that was dominated by Welsh Border CC crews.
At Petrol Ian 'Dude' Roberts/Dale Furniss held a four second lead from Mark 'GT' Roberts/Eurig Davies, the eventual winners were a minute behind. However the positions changed when the second placed Golf cut out and refused to restart, it blocked the road for Roberts/Furniss, who lost a minute before the car burst into life. This allowed a hard charging Price/Herbert to make up the deficit and overhaul their fellow clubmen for the win.
Richard Jerman/Carrie Rogers, were the only crew who managed to match the three leading crews’ pace. They finished in fourth, having been just 25 seconds behind the winners through the second half.
Of the top starters, Matthew Jones/Richard Morris and Steve Wood/Aled Richards both retired with damaged water hoses.
