Ian ‘Dude’ Roberts/Gwawr Hughes took a dominant win on the Rali Bro Ddyfi. The pair were the first crew to get back to the Finish and were assured of victory before any other car arrived as their total penalty for the night was less than anyone else’s had been at Petrol.
Kevin Kerr/Max Freeman were the only competitors within spitting distance of the winners, coming in a minute and a half behind. No one else was within ten minutes of the winning total.
Roberts’ task was made slightly easier as he was the only one of the top seven starters to finish. A number of crews withdrew in confusion after failing to stop at a give way however the junction had not been included in the route instructions and none as a result would have been excluded for the offence.
It wasn’t a good night for BRC front runners. Osian Pryce/Anthony Litchfield retired with a broken engine mount, while Steven John Williams/Dale Furniss only got as far as the first junction of the event before the gearbox on their hired car failed.
