Andy Whittaker/Charlie Tynan (Peugeot 205 GTi) won the Buglass Trophy Rally despite missing two code boards.
The Berwick & DMC navigational rally used a route of just under 100 miles in Northumbria.
Only crews running in the Expert and Non-Expert classes were eligible for overall awards, unfortunately there were only five starters in these categories in total. In contrast the Historic and Newcomer classes, who had simpler navigation, were very well supported.
Whittaker/Tynan had to add 30 minutes to their total penalties for the two missed boards but were still well clear of any challengers at the Finish. George Harrison/Ali Procter took the runner up spot and the Non-Expert class win.
Graeme Sherry/ Peter Weall went out of the event when they put their Peugeot 205 off the road.
Keith Brown/Russel Blood dropped just two minutes in time penalties, but missed one board, to secure the Newcomers win. They were just ahead of the first Historic crew, Simon Parson/Trevor Cattermole.
