The highly experienced duo of Darkie Lewis/Chris Pringle took overall victory on Berwick & DMC's Buglass Trophy in 2006.
The rally had a 90 mile route which included many of the roads used as stages on the Jim Clark Memorial. Starting and finishing in Berwick, the rally ventured into Scotland around Wick and Oldhamstocks.
As usual the different classes were provided with varying difficulties of navigation, with the crews in the main event having the now traditional demanding versions. Lewis/Pringle won despite missing two code boards. Top seeds George Harrison/Ali Procter, second in 2005, finished as runners up once again having missed three boards; at one point they took the wrong route and ended up crossing the Whiteadder Ford.
Johnston Trophy Rally winners Colin and Craig Wallace won the Club Rally in their Saab 96.
Both the Newcomer and Historic were well supported, these competitors were given marked maps. There was a close finish in the latter category with three crews finishing on 15 minutes time penalties - Simon Parson/Trevor Cattermole beat Stuart Bankier/David Alexander on the furthest clean tie break, while David Thomson/Neil Morrison were relegated to third after missing a board.
William Thompson Snr/William Thompson Jnr had to cut route after running out of fuel in their Hillman Avenger Tiger.
Just one missing code board was sufficient to give Geoff Fletcher/Keith Fletcher (Vauxhall Nova) victory in the Newcomer Category.
