Winners: David Tubman/John Tubman (Ford Escort)
David Tubman/John Tubman finished the Durham Dales Navigational Rally clean of any penalty to take a decisive win. The crew had lost out on tie deciders in both 2003 and 2004; in 2005 there were no such problems as they were six minutes ahead of their nearest rivals.
Malcolm Holdsworth/Richard Holdsworth and Pete Tyson/Neil Harrison finished second and third respectively, both having only dropped time on the first two short sections. Top seeds Andy Whittaker/Charlie Tynan had a miserable night as they struggled with the navigation at two points, losing a total of 19 minutes in wrong slots.
Chris Dodds/Andrew Gibson took the Non-Expert Class win, Chris Hetherington/Matt Heal would have beaten them but they missed a code board, adding 15 minutes to their penalties.
Monty Pearson, navigated by his 13 year old son Garry, won the Newcomers class after Peter Gibson/Adam Bradford retired with mal-de-nav.
Colin Wallace/Craig Wallace were comfortable winners in the Historic section. Simon Parson/Nick Cooper finished second having completed the icy 95 mile route with the top down on their Sprite.
