Winners: Jonathan Brass/Tom Wilcox (Nissan Sunny)
Jonathan Brass/Tom Wilcox (Nissan Sunny) finished The Harry & The Ivy Rally as the crew with the fewest penalties, despite missing a code board.
The Kirby Lonsdale MC was open to Novice and Beginner crews only. There was a 93 mile route, which used new territory for the Harry & Ivy, in the Hornby area. Despite the novice status, navigation was demanding, with herring bones and reverse tulips used on the opening section.
The first half headed south east from the start at the Heaves Hotel, Levens; using roads in Farleton Fell, Arkholme and a snowy Littledale. The second half went north through Grizedale Forest and the Lythe Valley.
Brass/Wilcox fell victim to a code board that only two crews managed to locate correctly, but, with all the finishers ending the rally with at least one fail, they had done enough to take first place. Stewart McNeill/Stuart Lawson (Vauxhall Astra), who had missed the first code board of the night, finished in second.
Mark Binney/Colin Lawson (Peugeot 205 GTi) finished third having lost several minutes as they struggled to get up a icy incline in Littledale.
Dan Willan/Heather Grisedale (Vauxhall Astra) were the fastest crew over the night but collected three fails near the end after missing out a white road.
Colin Wallace/Craig Wallace (Saab 96 V4) were the first Historic crew home in fifth place to score maximum points in The North of England/KLMC Historic Champoinship.
A combination of the tricky navigation and the weather conditions, saw a number of crews, from the capacity 30 car entry, go OTL.
