Jamie Turner/Graham Raeburn followed up their third place on the previous month's Epynt based Gremlin Rally by winning the Epynt based Y2K-Three Rally.

The rally ran alongside the night section of the Welsh Retro Historic Rally. It was the third running of the Clwb Modur Cymru event and for the first time it was a round of the North Western Championship.

Turner/Raeburn had decided on a cautious approach to the rally, their aim to avoid errors in both driving and navigating paid off as they came home ahead of a number of local crews. Top seeds Robert Wilson/Dylan Jenkins (Peugeot 205 GTi) finished in second place just eighteen seconds behind the winners.

Brecon Motor Club crews filled the next two places. Martin Leonard/Kevin Chaffey (VW Golf GTi) came in third, their challenge for the lead having faltered after wrong slots cost them about three minutes during the night. David Jones/Glyn Price (Peugeot 205 GTi) were the leading Semi-Expert crew in fourth, three minutes ahead of their nearest class rivals who were Roy Pesticcio/Simon Lannon (Ford Escort), who finished in sixth. Doug Bowkett/Clive Meredith (Peugeot 309 GTi) took the Novice Class win in twelfth place.

Other than the winners, the leading contenders for the North Western Championship had a night of mixed fortune. Dewi John Williams/Owen Dodd (Peugeot 205 GTi) took sixth place, which gave Dodd the lead in the navigators’ table. Mick Monaghan/Iain Tullie were making their first visit to Epynt and were happy to finish eighth in their newly acquired Sierra. Andrew Roberts/Steve Herbert failed to make the Finish after a power steering fluid leak led to a fire in their Impreza.

Paul Webb/Paul Morris went out after they hit a pot hole and bent the steering of their Astra GTE. While Ashley Morris/Iestyn ap Dafydd had a short event as their Sierra XR4i suffered a broken gearbox on the first loop of the Ranges. A car destroying roll in Crychan put the MG Maestro of Richard Atherton/Adrian Gladwin out of the event; the crew escaped without injury.

Owain Beaman/Mike Kimber (Peugeot 205 GTi) started at Car 2, but a series of punctures duirng the night, meant that they finished no higher than 18th overall.
