Clerk of the Course: Anthony Gluyas
Route: 130 Miles
Maps: 137 & 148
Starters: 63
Winners: Nic Morris/Martin Phasey (Ford Escort)
Nic Morris/Martin Phasey took their maiden rally win on the Peak Revs Rally. The pair, who had been in third place, moved to the front on the last section of the event through Bringewood to win by 11 seconds.
Last year’s winners Dylan Davies/Dale Furniss progressed from fifth to first just after the fuel halt but lost out at the death.
Craig Judd/Paul Todd held a narrow four second lead at Petrol but a wrong slot and later a visit to a muddy ditch saw them fall to tenth at the Finish.
Neil Roberts/Wyn Roberts had their 205 cut out on a track through Wigmore Rolls. The resultant blockage held up a dozen cars and led to the cancellation of the penalties for the section. Kevin Hesketh/Steve Price also had a short rally when a pulley broke and destroyed their Astra’s engine.
Gwyn Jones/Rob Leeman were clear winners of the Semi-Expert category, finishing in 12th place, eight minutes ahead of their nearest class rivals.
