Dermot Carnegie/Paul Bosdet won the Clwyd Vale Classic after a daylong battle with Howard Warren/Iain Tullie, who finished just seven seconds behind. Both crews thought that they had lost any chance of victory after struggling to maintain the time schedule on the final sting in the tail regularity section. However at the Finish it emerged that all crews had picked minutes of penalties where seconds are the normal order of the day. Thus Carnegie/Bosdet, fastest over the event’s ten tests, beat Warren Tullie, who had picked up least penalties on the day’s regularities.
Matthew Warren/Jessica Dickson took third and a clear win in the Experts category.
