Note: Originally due to run on 17th/18th February, the Rali Bro Caron, the first round of the Welsh Championship, had to be abandoned after Signing On had been completed when an error was found in the event’s third party insurance cover. It was rescheduled and ran a month later.
Kevin Davies/Dorian Evans took a clear win on the rally, now the second round of the Welsh Championship. The event run in tricky conditions where crews had to content with ice, snow, fog and rain.
The winners were never headed; fastest over the first section they had a lead of 11 seconds at Petrol but extended this to a minute and a half by the end. Stefan Davies/Dafydd Evans repeated their performance on the 1000 Lanes and took the runner up spot.
Meirion Evans/Iwan Jones finished their rally after less than two miles when their Escort’s engine went sick.
