Richard Rees took his maiden rally win on The Night Owl Rally on Saturday night, while for his navigator Dale Bowen the event marked his first overall victory in almost two years. The pair led just the last few hundred yards of the rally as the long time leaders Meirion Evans/Iwan Jones went off the road on virtually the last bend of the night. They lost three minutes and trailed in 11 seconds behind the winners.
The early pace setters were Kevin Davies/Dorian Davies but they were amongst a number of crews who missed a PC in the Goginian Mines and withdrew at Petrol.
notable result came from 14 year old Dafydd-Sion Lloyd who navigated Gary Robbins to the Semi-expert Class win and eleventh overall on only his fourth rally.
